Activity Ideas
- Using the Titanic newspaper, discuss the articles of the time, then organise a party themed ‘What Were You Doing Before The Titanic Sunk?’. Get residents to dress up (ladies with ‘flapper’ headdresses and beads, men with cravats). Play card games like our Casino Games Set with Automatic Card Shuffler.
- Use the Moon Landing newspaper and talk about the news of the time – ask who remembers the news and what they thought about it. Did they predict the future would turn out the way it did? Make a fun space monster or spaceship using lightweight boxes, cardboard tubes, silver foil and pipe cleaners.
- Make your own Dambusting game by stacking lightweight empty boxes to make a ‘dam’. Thow balls to knock it down – great for upper body toning.
Read all about it with our Newspaper Complete Collection – 9 assorted replica newspapers with the stories of the day just as people would have seen the latest updates on major historical events.
Our range covers everything from the 1912 Titanic disaster through to the Moon Landing in 1969.
This set makes an invaluable reminiscence therapy aid for older people with a dementia.
