- This is an ideal starter set that can be used again and again with different scents
- Put a few drops of the fragrance on the pad and place it in the smelling pot.
- Three specially selected fragrances and smelling pots are supplied, which can also be used for your own items
- A question prompt card with a set of 6 questions is included
- A particular smell can immediately evoke so much and is a great way to bring about therapeutic open chatting amongst a group

Add some items and food around the session to add an extra sensory element.
Add to a Getting to Know you session by asking everyone to gather items from the garden, like grass cuttings, flower petals, earth or from around the home like, furniture polish, coffee, piece of toast and place on a tray. As the pots are made of plastic they can be easily cleaned. Once everyone has put something on the tray, select some items and put in a pot and hand around, get people to ask questions to the person that chose that item.
Do a ‘Where am I’ activity with different scents.
For the beach: Use peppermint (this could even be a polo mint) – this would be for sticks of rock, Use Vanilla for ice cream and serve some ice-cream too. Add vinegar to a pot for seafood stalls or fish and chips. If you live close to the beach could you bring in some dried seaweed or arrange a trip to collect items? Have a Fish & Chip picnic?
In the Park: Use earth, grass, flower petals or leaves – you could also say a football, rugby or cricket match for these – add some beer or pie to a pot or to the table – if you want to include tennis add some strawberries and cream. If you are just ‘at the park’ put on a birdsong CD and have a picnic
